“Downloading”
features various Negativland members in a gilded Rococo frame. The images
of Five Floptops are stripped into place like streams of data downloading
from disparate sources. Does the frame go with the image? It doesn’t
matter. The frame is more important. The frame is the media, and how
it characterizes whatever we see and hear in ways that are wholly apart
from reality. |
