Dear Dick,

The ignorance you accuse the common American of is multiplied by folks who preach a dogma intolerant of any other train of thought. If yours' is not the human condition that has caused artists to create artworks for thousands of years, what gives you the right to stomp your soapbox about it? What hotline to heaven do you own that allows you to judge another beings' connection to his/her soul? God is within, has existed for thousands of years (since long before your (misquoted) saviour), and is tolerant and loving of any soul willing to converse with Him/Her.

I have a strong religious background, a good spirit, and I am in fear of those who believe that the roadmap they received is a 'carved in stone' route to a perfect life and afterlife. As strongly as some artists feel about their views, they create music (painting, sculpture, etc.) to share thier thoughts and feeling with others. Apparently, some of those who can't must critique and IMPOSE! I need a V-chip to exclude amateur 'moralists' like yourself out of my browser.

In fear of YOUR Lord,
Marc Mandler

P.S. Jesus, much like Stephen Stills, was a drug user (wine) and a convict.

You're arguments hold neither water nor wine! First of all, Jesus' legal problems came about for proclaiming Himself the Son of God, not for drug charges, drunk driving, or waving a pistol around in his T-Bird! Next time you wish to defend CRIME, I hope you'll do a better job!

Now, lets ruin your second point. The Bible mentions the use of wine, which was common in the 1st century, grapes being an abundant resource throughout the Middle East. The common Hebrew word for wine (yayin) means grape juice. The common Greek word (oinos) generally means the same. These words, however, have many meanings. They could also mean "grapes," "grape juice" "grape jelly," and many other things. At the end of this exhaustive list, it could possibly mean a firmented grape beverage. Since we know that Jesus was perfect and never sinned, He could not have possibly ingested an intoxicating substance for the Bible tells us, "Be not drunk with wine."

As for your uppity talk about art and music, you should know what every believer knows. There is only one true Artist, and it is the One mentioned in the well-known hymn, "How Great Thou Art."

Only because He died,
Pastor Dick
