The Ian Allen Tribute

The Ian Allen Tribute

Feb. 27, 20015

This is a tribute to the recently dead Ian Allen, who was there at the invention of Negativland and was a lasting influence on our esthetic direction ever since. We play a lot of Ian, who taped messages to himself and others on his portable Marantz recorder wherever he went, as well as some of the music pieces he made or contributed to, along with segments of a very early 1981 OTE show he participated in. R.I.P.

The Science Show

July 11, 2014

Negativland – Mark Hosler, Peter Conheim, Tim Maloney, Jon Leidecker, Don

A group of cohorts large enough to be called Negativland join me for an improvised discussion of Science. Peter Diddle, Harold Camping, Wick Milford, and Brindle Spork take on all scientific questions and Receptacle callers without a scientific plan or scientific qualifications to do so. This intense talk fest, intended to increase a public awareness of science in our lives, does just the opposite.

Ann McGuire, Wobbly, Don.

Crosley Bendix hosts songstress (with an emphasis on stress) Ann Mcguire, appearing with Wobbly as Freddy McGuire, for a night of her poems set to improvised music. Will this be the show that finally puts her over the top of fame and fortune? Crosley is convinced but all of entertainment is still awaiting the answer.

The Christmas Mash

“The Christmas Mash”

Dec. 21, 2012

Solo.

Another holiday season is upon us and this show is filled with its music – mostly of the dorky commercial production variety, but mashed together in combined and overlapping versions for the first time here. Got NOISE if you want it… Also, appropriate but seldom heard Christmas-themed songs, and an extended, old radio theatrical “poem” called, “The Plot To Overthrow Christmas.”

A 3 hour booper fest. All booper, all the time. Chaotic and noisey, this one is a challenge to listening. Good luck.
