Universe – Part 33

“Universe Part 33 What About The 60s? W”

Nov. 15, 2013

Beginning with a song by Françoise Hardy for our Paris listener, we just keep on mixing anything cosmically 60s, like radio in space, space in radio, our Apollo Moon program on the air, UFOs all over the place, every 6 minutes actually, with Procol Harum, Steve Miller, Quicksilver Messenger Service, J. Joplin, etc., etc.

Beatle Stone Mash”

Nov. 15, 2013

The children of Rock &Roll just fade away, except they don’t, because here’s what they did. Exclusively devoted to the Beatles verses Rolling Stones, chopped up and overlapped, with 60s commentary by both groups. This was an actual, musically dazed and confused issue of contention at the time. Mostly mixed with boots and takes of less familiar songs.

Halloween Receptacle”

Oct. 31, 2013

Halloween becomes a fright-filled, extended OTE featuring lots of lesser known Halloween novelty songs recorded in the 60s, an extended view of Satanism from Anton Lavey who created the Church Of Satan during the 60s, as well as excerpts from his Satanic Mass, an H.P. Lovecraft story, a 15 minute simul-play of two versions of “Celebration Of The Lizard” by the Doors that surprised even me at how well it worked, and of course, constant callers fill out this shivering example of solid receptacle programming.
