Seeland 527 CD

Columbus, Ohio’s legendary ECC predated the entire "mash-ups" phenomenon with an unholy marriage of Public Enemy and Herb Alpert way back in 1996 ("The Whipped Cream Mixes" 7".) Now they’re back with an amazing 29-track plunderphonic cookbook of instant classics, including "Rocked By Rape" (which earned ECC a ceast-and-desist from CBS News, later dismissed,) the inexplicably hilarious and rousing anthem"I Want a Cookie,” and even pieces dedicated to each primary meal of the day.

Originally issued in a different, nascent form (known as "V.1" and handed out by the ECC), Plagiarhythm Nation has been totally remastered, re-tooled, re-configured and expanded upon for Seeland release. A playful and brilliantly-executed album which significantly ups the ante for the cut-up genre.

Visit the ECC’s own web site at www.evolution-control.com and watch for live ECC performances in your town of the "Thimbletron" (which turns the ECC into a living, undulating MIDI monster.)
