THE DAVE EMORY TOUR DIARY,
thus entitled: DOOMSDAY, CAR BOMB, CONTINUING

DAY 14:

Cleveland show at the Agora is also selling poorly, and they, too, have moved the show from their main, seated theater (2200 capacity) to their smaller club stage. 60 tickets have been sold by the time Negativland arrives (late) to set up the show. As what happened seven years ago in Cleveland, a lone fan is camped outside the venue hours ahead of door time. It is the same fan who was at the show seven years ago. We give him all of our hummus and kalamata olives. He has Mark autograph several of the latter.

A possibly insane person spends the entire show mouthing loud comments, questions, and harangues about Terrence McKenna, mushrooms and other subjects, and does mock sign language interpretation at the foot of the stage for several long minutes. He is ejected from the venue and can still be heard yelling about psychedelics to the guards outside the venue until the point where some loud popping sounds are heard.

At the encore, during which time an antiquated overhead projector is used, the transparencies, which are supposed to be on the projector, are suddenly missing. The audience stands around puzzled as the band returns to the stage triumphantly, only to realize they are caught empty handed with nothing to do. Where are the transparencies? the band mutters nervously. But Tom comes to the rescue again: for no discernable reason they had been placed underneath the television set. Yes, where the parakeet feathers are. The encore continues as normal.
