thus entitled: DOOMSDAY, CAR BOMB, CONTINUING
DAY 2:
Nevada desert, 80 MPH winds. Van #2 begins to sway to and fro across the paved surface, becoming increasingly uncontrollable. With a deafening report, the right rear tire explodes in a shower of pulverized rubber, which coats the windshield of van #1 following behind, effectively eliminating all visibility. Somehow the drivers wrestle both disabled iron beasts to the side of the road.
At this point my notes become fuzzy again, but there's something about the Nevada D.O.T. having to rescue them because no one bothered to make sure a complete tire jack was residing in either van (there wasn't one.) Tom is nearly electrocuted whilst urinating near the accident site, having pissed into a discarded toaster lying prone by the side of the road which unbeknownst to him was still plugged in. Oh... uh... ha ha, ol' Negativland played a little trick on Dave Emory with that one. They later told me that last part was a joke and I forgot to cross it out here... Continuing...

Hours later, van #2 begins to sway across the roadway again, only this time in an increasingly worsening manner. Steering becomes very difficult and counter-intuitive... as the sun sets, the trip down the mountain pass becomes a potential death ride as Anne and Peter hurtle with only minimal control towards destiny. Rest of crew in van #1 watches with vague interest, but eventually switches off built-in Nintendo console and makes radio contact with van #2 and guides them into Elko, Nevada for investigation, where the group is now effectively stranded.
