THE DAVE EMORY TOUR DIARY,
thus entitled: DOOMSDAY, CAR BOMB, CONTINUING

Intro:

For reasons as yet unknown to me, Negativland asked me, and my name's Dave Emory, to handle the chores of keeping a journal on their so-called TRUE/FALSE 2000 tour, which was to take place from April 3 to May 28, 2000 throughout the greater United States. Or rather IS still taking place as I write this. I admit it gets rather confusing since I'm reading from a diary written in the present tense, but now it's past tense for most of these notes... I mean, the tour is only half over, so some is in FUTURE tense... uh, wait... Please forgive me, devoted listeners, I'm breaking with my usual format to read these scrawled notes to you and I admit it's a bit of a daunting task. It's worth noting here that I was not, in fact, even ON the tour, but was, or rather am, being updated via cellular telephone several times per hour all day and night so that I may keep an accurate accounting of events.

This is For The Record broadcast #4983, so those of you taping, please start your tapes now... 3-2-1, here we go...

The cast of characters in this journey are as follows: the seven so-called band members of Negativland, being Don Joyce, a.k.a. President Donny, Mark Hosler, Richard Lyons, Crosley Bendix, Pastor Dick a.k.a. Richard Seeland, Peter Conheim, and Marsha Turnblatt, and the six crew persons and/or auxiliary performing entities: Anne, Michael, Mike, Tara, Tom, and Will. It would later be learned that each of these latter folks would wind up being some sort of understudy or "emergency backup human" whether or not that was reflected in their job description or not.
